Rank records
Martial arts belt tracking software keeps a record of every student’s rank and what they need for the next one. It shows which students are eligible to test without anyone counting classes by hand.
Gym software built for general fitness stores a name and a payment plan. The rank, the stripe count and the class total sit in a spreadsheet beside it.
In Spark Membership, rank sits on the student record, joined to attendance, billing and signed waivers.

Rank history, attendance, signed waivers and every message sent sit on one student record, next to billing, scheduling and the member app.

Six rank jobs, from enrollment to promotion day.
Rank Records
Every student record holds rank history next to attendance, signed waivers and every message sent. Instructors see where a student stands from one screen.
Curriculum Requirements
Each school sets its own requirements for every rank level inside Spark. A belt system or a stripe system fits without building custom fields.
Test Eligibility
Attendance counts toward the next rank on its own. The school sees which students have earned their next test without keeping a spreadsheet.
Milestone Alerts
When a student reaches a testing milestone, Spark notifies both the instructor and the student.
Mass Rank Promote
Move a whole testing group to their next rank in one pass. Spark sets the rank and belt order and prints the belt labels.
Certificates and Registration
The same flow produces rank promotion certificates and the registration pages a school sends out before testing day.
One Platform. Three Tools.
Belt tracking runs on Spark’s three core tools, all reading one student record.

Who built it
Master Ron Sell opened his first martial arts school in Florida in 1991, at nineteen, and ran four by 2003. Grandmaster Cheong Park owned eight.
The two started building Spark in 2017 and launched it in 2019, the year it reached 1,000 schools.
Spark tracks rank progression, testing and student milestones as part of the student record, with no custom fields to set up.
“What I appreciate most is that SPARK is built specifically for martial arts schools.”
Andy Cassady, Royce Gracie Academy of Macomb
