False Sense of Confidence

In today’s world parenting has changed tremendously.

Generation change also comes with inevitable consequences and one of them is instilling a false sense of confidence. 

For instance, giving your children a trophy at the end of soccer season does not reinforce a true sense of confidence. 

The saying “No Pain, No Gain” is exceptionally true, the agony of defeat is a very powerful tool if it’s instilled correctly in our children. 

As a parent, we have to take the opportunity to build up their self-esteem in a positive way so that when they reach a certain point in life then reality does not smack them hard. 

That mom and dad told them that life is part of failing and failing is a stepping stone to success. 

That there is a value in failure, by experiencing failure your children will get to know themselves better and they’ll learn from their mistakes as a way to improve themselves. 

So, I hope that you will allow your children to experience failure it will help build their self-awareness.

3 Areas I Focus On to Defy & Define My Time

Mother nature is a formidable opponent, particularly in terms of the use of your time.

No matter how powerful, wealthy, and no matter what the circumstances are time – the power of God is something that we would never conquer. 

In the first half of our lives the time is for us, the second half of our lives the time is against us, and we have to defy time by developing the discipline to make into the second half that time is given to us. 

The only way to do that is to stay healthy and it takes discipline and focus.

Sometimes our motivation is our daily way of life and sometimes we forget the question “what is our motivation?”

Is it for your family?

Is it for your passion?

Is it to accomplish the goal?

Whatever your motivations are find them and make it a priority to defy the time that is given to you – the only way to do that is to be disciplined and focus and live a healthier way of life: mentally, physically, and emotionally. 

In order to be a centered human being you have to be mentally strong, physically strong, and spiritually strong, and as martial artists we have to consistently work on that.

Being physically strong nourishes our self-esteem, and our soul and it allows our minds to be more focused. 

Ask yourself this question, what is it going to take for you to lead a healthier and better version of yourself?

No Pain, No Gain

No pain no gain

No pain, no gain this is a mindset that can really help you push yourself. 

For example, when we work out, we make it to the point of pushing ourselves to a threshold of pain, and the reason why we sometimes do that is to increase self-discipline, and pushing ourselves will take us to the next level. 

Every single one of us has pains but the challenge here is being mindful, being mentally aware of the pain that we are experiencing. 

Here is the challenge, if you don’t do something about that pain, it will become painless. 

And if you are a school owner and if you really want to break out towards your triple-digit students but if you are not doing anything about it then it becomes painless and you will get complacent. 

So you have to be constantly aware of the pain that you are experiencing because awareness of the pain allows you to take action and find the solution.

Don’t let the pain linger around too long because it disappears and then comes back. 

It’s also the same thing as running a school, as school owners we need to be aware of the challenges that we are experiencing in operating our school and find solutions to them. 

Let your pain be the motivator to take the action.
