Success Is Not What’s It’s Played Out to Be

Success is not what everybody paints it out to be.

Some are blessed and grateful to have achieved an amount of success at such an early age. 

During our younger years, we tell ourselves that by the age of 30 we are going to be wealthy.

The most difficult part of success is maintaining it.

Maintaining success is much more challenging than getting to success. Maintaining success is another ballgame. 

Successful individuals paint us a picture of the life they have especially on their social media pages. 

Whatever industry leaders and marketing gurus – flashing out their cash, cars, and hanging out. 

That’s not what success is all about.

Success is the ability to maintain focus, discipline, consistency, and effort combined with evolution and innovation through technology. 

Success is challenging, it will test you, having multiple school business owners there will be constant problems coming up all the time.

Make sure that each one of you is evolving and maintaining success.

What Is Your Algorithm?

Understanding algorithm makes a whole lot of difference in business, especially in digital marketing.

The algorithm dictates productivity even though we are not created the same genetically. 

You have to understand what type of algorithm you have because that determines your level of productivity and the ability to get things done. 

For example, my algorithm is ADHD, I thrive in chaos, my world is completely organized, and I thrive on multi-tasking.

Some people cannot multi-task; they need to do one thing at a time.

Therefore, don’t be something like you’ve never built that way because we often want to duplicate and replicate, but you have to make sure that what you duplicate and replicate is aligned with your culture and with your algorithm.

Reinventing the wheel is not something we recommend doing but staying with the realm of that is very important. 

Constantly be evolving and understanding what will work for you and not to be something you are not.

One of the Weakest Mindset a Martial Artist Have

One of the weakest mindsets is having a scarcity mindset. 

Unfortunately, this is rampant among some martial arts school owners – having resentment towards other martial arts schools in town. 

Not having the scarcity mindset, or not having the mindset that the other martial arts school in town are my competition. 

Always focus on growth – growing yourself as a person and doing your best at what you love. 

Martial arts is one style, it is important to understand that united we stand. 

Now is the time to really change your thinking. We need to be united more than ever and the school across the street is part of our family – the martial arts family. 

They are teaching the values of martial arts just like you are in our community. 

Our advice is to reach out to your competition, talk to them and shake their hands and acknowledge that you are both a martial artists and that if they need help you’ll be there.

Collaborating with the school within your town is a way to promote the values and spirit of martial arts and let the community know how important what we are doing is. 

It is our responsibility to inspire, motivate, and instill values that we need more than ever. 

If you do this, you will rise so much within yourself by having a level of humility. 

Embrace, encourage and inform the school owners near you that you are their friend and not a competition – that you are all martial artists with the same purpose, to teach what you are passionate about. 

The only person that you are in competition with is yourself – to be a better you every day that you wake up and be grateful to make a difference in your community.

How Robert Butturini Enrolled Over 100 Members in March

Martial arts have transformed many people: kids not being bullied anymore, kids that were full of themselves and were disrespectful became humble and respectful, and adults that are stressed walked out of the studio being fit and distressed.

I want you to meet Robert Butturini, based in Tennessee. He was able to enroll 100 new members in his martial arts school just for a single month. He shared that he can double his income ever since he joined Spark Membership. 

He shared in his interview with Master Ron Sell that he honored his success with his staff.

Martial Arts As A Career

Career day is a great opportunity and shows them what true martial arts teachers are all about.

Often, the school systems think that martial arts are violent and it’s going to wild things up, but in the past, it had been the way. 

Three goals in mind when walking into school talks

  1. We want the teacher to fall in love with my presentation

Going to talk about respect, focus, discipline, and setting goals. We also want to create a bridge that explains how kids can use focus, respect, confidence, and discipline in school. The intention is to paint a picture to the faculty members we care about students.

We want the teacher and student to realize how exceptional your student is. Treating them as a VIP and that they are super special. . It’s going to build their confidence and make them bully-proof.

  1. By the end of the school talk, ask the teacher how did he/she like the presentation

Ask them if it’s good if the kids benefit from it. And ask them if do they know another classroom that would love to invite us and would love our message.

The Importance of Having Standard Operating Procedures

SOPs

It is an acronym for “Standardized Operating Procedures.”

Standard Operating Procedures, aka “business systems,” were responsible for the rapid opening of 200 locations in the 1970s in only a few years.

When you create SOPs, you take something complicated and break them up into step-by-step tasks almost anyone can follow and consistently succeed.

An enrollment conference is an excellent example of an SOP. It’s something you can systematize. And it’s wise to organize to create highly trained staff members who consistently produce results.

One of the things about success is making you more money.

Success is no different than training. 

Success is something that you need to control, manage and understand as it can get the best of you. 

So many school owners achieve a certain level of success, but only a few have maintained it as they lacked the discipline to manage it. 

Success is a great thing, but it can also be your worst enemy if you don’t control it, and the scary part of it is you won’t ever know if it’s going to be short-lived. 

Be grateful, be humble, and put away the money you make for your future and family. 

Some go through hardship and achieve success that they tend to forget the past. You have to let your history remain and humble you. 

Manage your success, control your success, and don’t let success control you.

Things to Consider if You Want to Open Multiple Locations

So many school owners think that opening another school in different locations can double or triple their income, but the reality is that it never works out that way, especially if it’s not done well. 

The ideal time to open a second location for your school is when your first location has already established a proven concept that it already has the level of profitability that is ready to scale it up. 

The issue of some school owners is they open a second location before they really should, and the other problem is having the mindset that opening another location is not that difficult at all. However, it is a completely different skill set. 

The school must have standard operating procedures in every spec of your school if you’re gearing towards multiple schools. 

Also, the system is about developing a lifestyle – by making an impact on the community.

In order to duplicate, you have to start with a system and a written process. 

Next is the curriculum. It is our driving force as martial arts school owners, and it should be good for the average martial arts student. 

The curriculum must transcend every student’s experience. 

Remember, the most important thing in your martial arts school business is your training floor. 

What can you teach in three years that you’ll be proud of your student and you’ll be proud of yourself. 

The student must progress to have the interest to continue to attend. You will then test them to give a sense of accomplishment to retain and upgrade them. 

Everything we do as school owners funnel down to our dojo.

Then, staff training by having a progression system and by making the instructors certified to be more confident in what they are doing. 

Be persistent and relentless. We cannot teach somebody if we cannot teach our mastery.
